'Pacific Overtures', a musical production of the story of the beginning of the colonization of Japan by American and European influences. The story follows a humble samurai and a condemned-to-death fisherman to confront the mysterious new 'invaders' and investigate their intentions. After first contact and establishing good terms, they later return to do business with the people of Japan and begin to introduce their ways of life. At first they are welcomed by the current government, but there are those who believe that Japan is slowing losing its identity and in order to save it they must give power back to the Emperor, the one believed to be destined to lead Japan in this new future.

The play is performed at the Chromolume Theatre in Los Angeles, Dec 2017. Directed by James Esposito.
