The Carolyn Bryant Project

Based on the historic event in 1955 in Money Mississippi involving 21-yr old Carolyn Bryant and 14-yr old Emment Till, The Carolyn Bryant Project is a retelling of their encounter at her family's candy store, his following torture and death by her relatives, and her trial as an accessory to murder. Repetition is used throughout the show analyzing what happened through their different points of view and exploring the different scenarios of 'who did what to whom and how'.

Created by Nataki Garrett & Andrea LeBlanc, this workshop for production took place at the California Insitute of the Arts in October 2014 in Ensembe Theatre E407.  Photos by Steven A. Gunther.
